William R. Freeman, M.D., Professor and Director of the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Retina Center, received the ‘best scientific poster award” by the American Academy of Ophthalmology for his scientific presentation entitled “Extension Study of Ranibizumab (Lucentis) for CNV Due to AMD”. He was selected as Conference Board President at the Fourth International Conference on Ocular Infections in Sapporo, Japan and was once again selected on the 2006 “Best Doctors in America” list.

Michael H. Goldbaum, M.D., Professor of Ophthalmology, has once again been selected by San Diego Magazine’s “Top Doctors” list for 2006.

Don O. Kikkawa, M.D., Professor and Chief of Oculofacial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, has once again been selected by San Diego Magazine’s “Top Doctors” list for 2006, of which he is 1 of only 25 that have been selected for the last 4 years in a row. Dr. Kikkawa has also been selected to Woodward and White’s “Best Doctors in America” 2006.

Leah Levi, M.D., Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurosciences; Director, Ophthalmology Residency Program, was selected by San Diego Magazine’s “Top Doctors” list for 2006.

Robert N. Weinreb, M.D., Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Hamilton White Glaucoma Center, was elected President of the American Glaucoma Society (AGS) for 2006-2008, and for Outstanding Attending from the University of California San Diego, Department of Ophthalmology for 2005-2006.
