Patrick Danaher, M.D. 2007-2010

UC San Diego School of Medicine

Patrick is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and champion Top Gun F-16 fighter pilot. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys hang gliding and surfing.

 

 

 

Ankur Shah, M.D. 2007-2010

Northwestern

Ankur is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a major in Biological Anthropology. Active in public service, he also enjoys tennis, hiking and biking. Dr. Shah has been tapped for membership in AOA.

Sara Yoon, MD 2007-2010

Boston University

Sara, who received her BA in biology from Wellesley College, did an internship in Medicine at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in MA. In her spare time, Sara enjoys music, whether it be playing the piano, or singing in a choir or a capella group.

 

Payam Amini, M.D. 2008-2011

SUNY Upstate Medical University

Payam will join us after his Transitional Internship at UCLA Harbor. He is a neuroscience graduate of UCSD who enjoys keeping up with current events, listening to classical and traditional music, volunteering, and participating in sports such as basketball, marathons, weights, tennis, and coaching.

 

 

Anjali Maheshwary, M.D. 2008-2011

University of Chicago Medical School

Anjali's internship is in Medicine at the UCSD Medical Center. She is a graduate of the U of Michigan where she majored in biology and English. Since childhood, Anjali has enjoyed tennis and playing violin. She also volunteers, teaches violin, and tutors biology and English.

 

 

Katherine Whipple, M.D. 2008-2011

New York Medical College

Katherine's Transitional Internship is at Aultman. She is a graduate of the State University of NY/Geneseo where she earned her degree in biochemistry. Katherine, once a contestant on "the Benefactor," has outside interests that include travel, writing short stories and screenplays, and sports such as softball and long distance running.

 

 

 

Sara Bozorg, M.D. 2009-2012

University of Rochester

Outside of medicine, Sara’s several and varied interests include her past participation in competitive varsity level basketball and being an avid soccer player, marathon runner, traveler (previous three years: Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Mexico, Costa Rica), mountain climber (Mont Blanc in France; Chirripo in Costa Rica; Alpamayo in Peru; Mt Olympus in Greece), and multi-linguist (fluent in French and Farsi; Spanish; basic Croatian).

Her passion for creative writing brought her to be a founding editor of Turtlequill, her medical school’s first literary journal; and musically, she is an accomplished violinist (Suzuki violin since age 5) and has been a member of several orchestras and jazz bands.

 

 

Milad Hakimbashi, M.D. 2009-2012

University of Wisconsin, Madison

Milad completed his biochemistry major at UC Davis, graduating with highest honors, before persuing his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. This AOA Honor Society member and recipient of multiple scholarships has been actively involved in medical research, as well as volunteering in medical clinics and with Meals on Wheels.

For a change of pace, Milad turns toward sports, including soccer, basketball, or tennis. Additionally, he enjoys cooking, and classical Persian music.

 

 

Jonathan Tung, M.D. 2009-2012

UC San Diego School of Medicine

While completing his medical degree, Jonathan co-founded the UCSD School of Medicine’s Surgery Interest Group (Vice-President from 2004-2005) and was also President of the Ophthalmology Interest Group, 2007-2008. In addition, he has been very active in community ophthalmology and research.

Jonathan has been an accomplished musician since junior high school, participating in clarinet and piano competitions and ensembles, most recently the Brown University Wind Symphony and the UCSD wind ensemble. When Jonathan gets outdoors, it is most likely for tennis, in which he has competed from high school and his undergrad years at Brown.
