Diana Shiba, M.D. 2006-2009
Dr. Diana Shiba, as a native to southern California,
ventured eagerly east to Georgetown for her BA, but migrated
back west to UC Davis for med school when she discovered how
chilly it could be. While
realizing that cows don't really smell all that bad, she did
miss those long drives along the PCH... so decided for residency
it was time to move back home to sunny SoCal, and has now
completed her transitional year (one of the best years of
her life!) at Scripps Mercy Hospital, and is excited to start
her eye career here at UCSD. Her interests include grilling,
entertaining, and gourmet cooking (don't be surprised to see
her on Iron Chef one day!), traveling (Hong Kong and Bali
are her favorites,) jet-skiing, and downhill skiing. Her career
interests include education (she is volunteer UCSD clinical
faculty) and international pro-bono work.
