When it comes to helping the San Diego community
achieve solutions to eye challenges, Circle of Sight, the Shiley
Eye Center support group, leads the way. The Circle of Sight was
founded in 1996 to support the research, practice and continuation
of all programs within the Shiley Eye Center. Providing annual
funds, the members make it possible for the physicians and researchers
at the Shiley to make a difference in the San Diego community
in a myriad of ways ranging from support for research, outreach
programs for children and those who suffer from macular degeneration,
new pieces of equipment for the clinical needs of the Center and
even new space as needed to expand facilities.
The Circle of Sight members attend four meetings
each year that focus on cutting- edge research, clinical and surgical
practices that are unique to the Shiley Eye Center. Many of the
members are current or past patients at the Center who have experienced
the care of our physicians and the transformation of their vision
and eye problems. Information about this dynamic organization
of volunteers and supporters is available by calling the Office
of Communications and Business Development at the Shiley.
