Gabriel A. Silva, MSc, PhD, is Assistant Professor
in the Department of Bioengineering and at the Jacobs Retina
Center in the Department of Ophthalmology. He is also a
faculty member in the Whitaker Institute for Biomedical
Engineering, the Neurosciences Program and the Computational
Neurobiology Graduate Program at UCSD. His work focuses
on the regeneration of the neural retina and the central
nervous system. Dr. Silva did his PhD at the University
of Illinois at Chicago and a postdoctoral fellowship at
Northwestern University, and is a recipient of a UCSD Whitaker
Foundation Leadership Award.
